London Fashion Week: Paul Smith SS15
Tailoring was at the heart of the Paul Smith Spring Summer 15 collection, laid back suiting with a subtle, nautical feel running throughout. Raw edges featured on structured linen dresses, bronze metallic fabrics craft exquisite bomber jackets, turtle neck oversized shirts, voluminous trousers and pinstripe blazers.
Beautifully cut, feminine silk blazers paired with pleated, midi skirts create some of the most perfect looks within the show. Graphic printed florals in pale blues on checkerboard and plain silks create the more feminine pieces within the collection.
The colour palette went back to basics, stepping away from the rich, plethora of colour found in Paul Smith’s A/W collection, his S/S collection saw muted greys, taupe, blues, olives, nudes, bronzes and blushes alongside tricolour stripes.
Accessories provided the finishing touch for the collection with clear, perspex sunglasses in shades of taupe and clementine with rose tinted lenses. Sport inspired crossover bags, leather messenger bags and backpacks in neutral shades, sky blues and greys. Utility inspired belts and jewellery added a masculine edge to feminine tailoring and prints. Footwear followed suit with trends spotted across the catwalks this Fashion Week with chunky sandals alongside wooden heeled sandals.
