Belstaff was founded in Longton, Staffordshire, England, in 1924 by Eli Belovitch and his son-in-law Harry Grosberg in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Originally, the brand produced durable and waterproof motorcycle jackets and has since evolved into making more ready-to-wear clothing and outerwear. It quickly grew in popularity with patrons such as thirties motocross legend Sammy Miller, the revolutionary Che Guevara, the desert legend Lawrence of Arabia and film idol Steve McQueen all wearing Belstaff jackets.
