It took 12 years in advertising and a course at the renowned Cordwainers College in East London before Rupert Sanderson plucked up the courage to design, what we now know as one of the most modern and historically influenced footwear brands. It may have been a long-held desire for footwear production that encouraged his initial brand idea, but trips abroad drove his interest in Italian craftsmanship, designs and brand philosophy.
In Store With Rupert Sanderson
Founded officially in 2001, Rupert Sanderson launched with only 15 pairs in his collection; running off the philosophy that “less is more”; a principle that he continues to embed within his following collections.
Focusing on the silhouettes of a shoe and the curves and arches of a foot, Rupert Sanderson uses only the highest quality of leathers and materials; producing each pair to a luxury standard. Utilising embellishments, textured materials, and an array of heels heights and tones, the brand continues to be both a Royal and celebrity favourite; gracing the feet of the likes of Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, Vanessa Kirby and Charlotte Riley.
The pre-fall collection, however, focuses on a defining theme inclusive of the signature pebble and ring pebble embellishments. Each shoe design enjoys the romance of its own narrative appropriately offering rich midnight tones and the popular Swarovski embellishments. These seductive additions can be found upon the Aurora, Malory and Bedfa styles.
Whether you’re needing a cold winter city run around like the Glynn, or a party-proof go-to like the Meadow Velvet, these seasonal shoes are a necessity in advance of AW18.
