TOGA SS19 Show Report

Featuring 3 key pillars for SS19, Togadrew focus for their latest collection from SPORT, AIR and SCRUNCHED… factors that seem so distant in style yet were married together in perfect harmony by Yasuko Furuta.

Delicate mesh and silk scrunched gowns were paired with highly technical sock sneakers, bulked out with Velcro uppers and heavy soles. Available in muted tones of beige and black and strongly contrasted with acid green and deep sky blue. Flatform sandals took a new build for street style hype with mesh uppers and foam bases supported with ties around the ankle. Floral designs came in traditional yellows, reds and oranges printed on to translucent sheer mesh fabric capes. Rosette ruched detailing featured on shoulder seams and beast panels across both shirts and dresses.

Silk tailoring was juxtaposed with heavy embellishments and defined shirt collars. Neoprene knee length cycling shorts act as a staple under garment, paired with a new season upgrade on thin framed specs to reveal a high tech goggle. Tailoring took cape-like form, and baroque print clashed happily with bold florals. Stilettos took an athleisure upgrade with rubber sole exteriors, paired often with lycra printed full body suits and accented with heavily pleated one legged skirts.

Sports bags came in mesh, accompanied by an upgrade on your Dad’s favourite golf sweater and sturdy slacks. Belts cinched in waists on dresses and trench coats, whilst delicate dresses with demure boat necklines opposed chest-less jumpsuits. With wearability at its core, Togabrings home the trophy for another season.
