The Dresses to be Seen in This Season

The sun has well and truly got his hat on across the UK and as temperatures start to finally rise above a chilly 10 degrees, we’re ditching our tights, digging out the sandals and revealing a little more flesh. With summer getaways high on our agendas and wedding season approaching nailing that perfect dress has never been more important. It can be tricky to get right, but we’re here to help you bring those legs out of hibernation. Kick back, relax and peruse through the dresses to be seen in this season.

Long gone are the days of only spotting crochet in your grandma’s house, instead it’s a (very regular) resident on the runways. With top designers including Jil Sander, Loewe and Missoni loving the crochet dress. The style is not only super on trend for the season, but very versatile, going to the beach? Festival fashion? City break? The crochet dress will cater for all your needs.

A real winner for day to night style, lace dresses are a big look for the spring summer season. If you’re looking to inject some femininity into your wardrobe this is the trend for you. Keep it minimal with lace details or embrace full lace for a boho esque look. Take your outfit from office to evening wear by pairing with leather jackets, oversized blazers, kitten heels or boots.

Mixed Print

A favourite trend among an abundance of influencers is the mixed print dress. Fun and flattering on all, the mixed print dress is a great addition to your wardrobe. A real stand out trend in the ready to wear category, it adds a pop of colour with the mix of textures and patterns giving you a chic edge. Team with simple and sophisticated accessories to keep the focus on the dress.

The underwear as outerwear trend is having a real revival this season, with the slip dress featuring on almost all runways. Creating feminine silhouettes, the slip dress showcases womanly curves, exposing the shoulders and falling just below the knee it shows off just the right amount of skin. For a day time look, layer with a t-shirt underneath and for night time pair with barely there heels.

You may think leather is the ultimate no go for spring summer months, but you’re sadly mistaken. From Burberry and Acne to Botega and Marc Jacobs leather was heavily featured within SS19 collections. In a variety of shades, shapes and sizes it’s definitely a look we’re on board with. Team with chunky boots like Camille Charriere for double fashion points.
