Behind the Scenes at Coggles AW16
Autumn/Winter ’16: the season of bold checks and tartans, the bomber jacket, blush pink, the reinvented puffa, military inspirations and an elevated take on sportswear (call it the Vetements effect).
It’s a welcome move from the ‘70s trend that has dominated fashion for the past few seasons; textures are rich and varied (think velvet, brocade and shaggy faux fur), prints are eclectic, and shapes come big and oversized, cropped and slim or ruffle-covered. Designers are having fun with fashion again, moving on from the normcore-hangover and entering a new era of experimentation and deviation from the preconceived notions of style.
In celebration of the new season, Coggles has created a new video to showcase the AW16 collections through the medium of film, featuring some of the best pieces from the likes of Oliver Spencer, Canada Goose and Belstaff – plus newcomer A Kind of Guise and cult-favourite Ganni.
We went behind the scenes at the shoot for an exclusive insight into the production. Shot in a Manchester loft, the pared-back location offers a natural, fresh backdrop to some of this season’s must-have pieces.
