The Selby

'Through the Keyhole' for the modern age, 'The Selby' offers a step inside creative individual’s homes, personal spaces and studios. The project of photographer Todd Selby was created in 2008, offers an intimate peek into the home lives of creative people across the globe. We see them portrayed in the media from the outside in, but with 'The Selby', you see them from the inside out, they invite us to see their homes, spaces and personal items.

It all began when Todd posted photos that he’d taken of his friends apartments online, an influx of requests came pouring in, strangers opening their doors to 'The Selby' and his camera. The interest in being featured was mirrored by the interest of people wanting more insights into the lives of others. Since 2008 there have been countless features, numerous miles travelled and three books.

Beginning with the first book ‘The Selby is in Your Place’ featured a myriad of creative from artists to authors and musicians to designers photographed in their homes, showing off their natural habitat. The second focused on all things culinary, ‘Edible Selby’ features the restaurants, food, homes, kitchens and gardens of the superstars of the food world. The most recent foray into literature is captured in ‘Fashionable Selby’ profiling unique designers, models, stylists, haberdashers and other key pillars of the fashion industry.
