A Simple Christmas Table

Simple Christmas table

When it comes to Christmas there’s a tendency to go overboard with the decoration. Multi-coloured lights? Sure. Tinsel? The more the merrier. There’s no need to throw style completely out of the window during the festive period though; incorporate minimal design, fresh neutrals and clean lines with subtle seasonal touches instead to achieve an effortless look. Coggles have put together a few Christmas table ideas

#1 The Serveware

There’s no denying that food is at the heart of Christmas and so, therefore, is the table upon which it sits. The best way to decorate it is to keep colours to a minimum, sticking to a few neutral shades and textures; think a dark natural wood table covered in a crisp white linen runner and matching napkins as your base, covering the top in light grey and white pieces. Combine contemporary monochrome hues with sensory contrasting textures found on plates, serving bowls, jugs and more from Broste Copenhagen.

The Cutlery

To add that Christmassy feel, choose gold cutlery from Broste Copenhagen, copper serving trays from Tom Dixon and some copper serving spoons for extra effect. The gold provides a premium feel to the table with little need for more decoration due to its striking presence.

The Glassware

Whether they are used for water or wine, a matching set of glassware on your table will look impeccable. There are plenty from renowned brand, LSA, ranging from champagne flutes to balloon glasses, gin glasses to premium wine glasses.

The Additions

Touches of greenery laid on top of simple white and grey plates from Broste Copenhagen, and sat inside vases from LSA and Broste, will tie the table together, adding a simple touch of warmth to the space. Similarly, adding candles to the table will add dimension; giving height and a Christmas table centerpiece feature.

Adding decorations to your table in a minimalist fashion can also be a great way to curate a festive atmosphere. Placing simple decorations such as tree decorations or festive symbols on your wall can energise a room with Christmas spirit. Our favourite include the geometric shapes from Nkuku
