The London Fashion Week Style Guide
New York Fashion Week is currently in full swing which means one thing: London's turn is just around the corner. While the catwalks have been showing us what's to come from New York's designers next Spring/Summer, the streets have been showing us how the fashion set are wearing the trends now. With America's fashion capital in full heatwave mode, the fashion set have taken to summer-ready style; loose-fitting shirts are worn draped low below the shoulders, silhouettes are oversized yet tailored and everything from dresses and skirts, to tops and sleeves are edged in ruffles. We expect to see a similar vein on London's streets during Fashion Week SS17, but with England's capital's signature twist; discover the pieces you need now.
The Victoriana trend is set to dominate AW16, seen everywhere from the likes of Simone Rocha to Alexander McQueen. This chiffon and lace blouse from East London brand Perseverance ticks all the right boxes; wear with slim tailored trousers and penny loafers to offset the femininity of the blouse, while the Clare V. clutch adds a chic injection of colour.
Loose cover-ups make great transitional items for the beginning of autumn, and this Ganni kimono is a statement jacket perfect for LFW. Wear with a simple peplum dress, heeled ankle boots and classic tote bag to make it the stand-out piece.
Blue jeans are classics for a reason and this season they've been updated in straighter, looser fits rather than the skinny fit of yore. Elevate the Levi's wedgie fit jeans with this leather Gestuz kimono, wearing them cropped at the ankles to show McQ Alexander McQueen boots underneath.
