London Fashion Week: Charlotte Simone AW16
This cult brand took on a ‘90s aesthetic for the Charlotte Simone AW16 collection. With ‘90s girl band hits blaring from East Castle Street’s Scream Gallery, Stan Smiths, and dresses-over-trousers combinations, this was definitely a collection that looked to the latter end of last century for inspiration.
As ever with Charlotte Simone, the focus was on the colourful, playful fur, with shaggy coats, boleros and fur-trimmed leather jackets dressing up the all black ensembles. Baby pink was there in abundance, found on top of the trainers and around the models’ necks – but so was pale blue, soft grey and dark green.
The classic Simone long striped scarves made another appearance, but more fun elements were found in pom pom-adorned wool caps, yeti-style coats and a whole load of PVC.
