Five Trends from London Collections Men SS17

As London Collections Men wraps up for another season, the trends for Spring/Summer ’17 have started to emerge. From updated classics and relaxed tailoring, to early ‘60s-inspired shapes and prints, here are the trends from LCM SS17 we’re most looking forward to next summer.

Khaki

A trend seen at Autumn/Winter ’16 at the likes of Maharishi and Astrid Andersen, khaki will still be going strong into SS17. Spotted at YMC, Belstaff and Nigel Cabourn, khaki was seen used in lightweight parkas, zip-up knits, tailored jackets and army-style shirts. The way to wear it is in head-to-toe tonal shades.

Palm Print

The palm print has been embraced by women’s fashion over the past couple of Spring/Summers, and now it’s made its way into menswear. At Nigel Cabourn it was subtly placed on loose shirts, while at Universal Works it was boldly printed on t-shirts.

Camo Print

Another print dominating menswear next season is camo. Already seen this Spring/Summer, it’s a trend that’s set to continue into next year, seen on Belstaff’s classic motorcycling jackets and reimagined in yellows and greens at MCM X Christopher Raeburn.

Mustard

Mustard may not be the easiest colour to pull off, but it was found in oversized suiting and retro-inspired bomber jackets at Oliver Spencer, and cropped trousers and striped shirts at CMMN SWDN.

Bomber Jackets

The sport luxe trend is one that’s taken the fashion industry – and street style – by storm over the last few years. No longer reserved for the gym or early ‘90s throwbacks, sports-inspired pieces are now fully integrated into a lot of peoples’ day-to-day wardrobes. The bomber jacket is back for SS17 – look to YMC for some of the best new styles.
