A Round-Up of the Key London Fashion Week Beauty Looks

Guest post by the Beauty Editor at Beauty Expert

London Fashion Weekhas drawn to a close, but we are still talking about the makeup looks that have allowed us to preview the beauty trends we’ll be recreating in Autumn Winter 2019. Several of the most memorable looks were created by the Illamasqua team, led by Head of Artistry Pablo Rodriguez, and this cutting-edge makeup brand is stocked at both Beauty Expert and Coggles. Acting to reflect the designer’s collections and bring their visions to life, the Illamasqua artistry at London Fashion Week showcases the brands ability to combine colour intense makeup with modern wearable finishes.

Mark Fast

Inspired by 50’s glamour, the makeup at the Mark Fast Show focused on blending pink and lavender hues using a pastel colour palette. The base was light and natural, featuring the Matte Veil Primer  and the iconic Skin Base Foundation. Applying a wash of purple shadow in the shade ‘Can Can, the Illamasqua artists followed with the Precision Gel Liner to sketch a thick line and a feminine flick. Lips were kept simple with the punchy pink lip colour ‘Plunge, and was paired with the Cream Blush in ‘Laid, diffused using fingertips for a softer finish.

Marta Jakubowski

In contrast to Mark Fast, the attention was brought to the lips at the Ryan Lo show, the standout product being the neon fuschia lipstick ‘Eurydice’. The look of understated glamour was brought to life with a dewy base, created using the Matte Beyond Veil Primer and the Skin Base Foundation. To trial the neon look in a more subtle way, we love the Colour Veils, an innovative jelly blush formula that blends effortlessly and seamlessly into the skin.

According to Pablo Rodriguez, we’ll all be wearing a red lip when the Autumn season comes around later in the year. The Marta Jakubowski show was a great indicator that red lipstick looks good on everyone, and we saw the bestselling Illamasqua lipstick in the shade ‘Midnightapplied backstage, along with the Colouring Lip Pencil in the shadeCreative.Whilst Pablo shied away from mascara, we recommend to add lashings of the Illamasqua Masquara for a wearable take on this editorial look.
