The Scandinavians do enviable minimal design like no other, making something so stylish look incredibly simple and effortless. This interior sticks to this tact at Christmas too, eschewing bright colours, sparkle and overdone decoration for fresh neutrals and subtle touches.

The home of Nina Holst of the blog Stylizimo uses a palette of grey, white and green throughout, complementing the use of natural wood perfectly. For a subtle Christmassy touch, she uses seasonal flowers and plants - such as Juniper and hyacinths - and walnuts for decoration, and plenty of candles to create a warm and cosy atmosphere. The use of faux fur blankets and a mixture of cushions add to the homely feel without detracting from the minimalist aesthetic.
