London Fashion Week: Aspinal of London AW16
The long-established Claridges set the scene for the Aspinal of London AW16 presentation; a fitting place for such a quintessentially British, elegant and luxurious brand. Continuing with this feel of rich history, Aspinal’s collection looked back to the 1940s and ‘50s, with the pearl becoming the focal point of the collection – found sitting under the straps of boxy bowling bags and adorning zip pulls.
The classics were all there – The Marylebone, The Brook Street, The Mayfair – building upon what the brand does best, with new classics found in the Editor’s Tote and aforementioned Pearl Bowling Bag.
Black, navy and rich burgundy all made an appearance too, but refreshingly for Autumn/Winter (and something we’ve seen a lot of this season), dusky pink, soft blues and mink made for a feminine addition.
New for AW16, Aspinal of London has created a capsule Pegasus collection with award-winning artist Emma Shipley. Taking inspiration from Aspinal’s feather symbol, the Pegasus is mythical, ethereal and comes in gold, midnight and dusty rose tones - a bold, creative move for the classic British brand.
