Whillas & Gunn

The Whillas & Gunn story starts in 1972 when Richard and wife Catherine Whillas developed an oilskin cloth using a wringer mangler and a combination of waxes and oils found on the local land. This cloth was ideally suited to life in the Australian bush, protecting their family from the harsh climate and equally harsh way of life.

Recognising the functionality and durability of oilskin cloth, soon 5 of the family’s 14 children began manufacturing outerwear garments to be sold in Australia and worldwide.

Today, nearly 40 years on, the third generation of the Whillas family is at the helm, combining timeless rugged Australian clothing with contemporary styling that’s perfect for both country and urban living.
