Preen by Thornton Bregazzi AW19 show report

The 80’s theme was ever present at the Preen by Thornton Bregazzi AW19 show this morning. Brightly coloured and hazard taped poles paved the way for the line of models walking to the sounds of New Order. You could see a clear influence from the SS19 collection, with staple sheer and lace fabrics still prominent within most pieces, teamed with layered floral tapestry jackets bringing a wintery feel to the collection.

The FROW hosted a plethora of influencers and celebrities, including Yasmin and Amber Le Bon, Jessie Bush, Lucy Williams Laura Baily, Joanna and Sarah Halpin. Guests of the show were treated to a variety of looks, ranging from the obvious 80’s influenced structured shoulders and double-breasted jackets, to gathered ruched with ribbon detail silk sleeves.  An autumnal brown with contrasting turquoise blue was a reoccurring colour scheme in the first look which was teamed with a sturdy pair of clogs.

Our favourite pieces, which we’ll certainly be swooning over this autumn winter season included argyle knits layered with detachable oversized collars.

A continuous feature within the collection was ribbon detail which fell from a selection of oversized jackets with a central buckle fastening detail, in an almost parachute-esque fashion; this was replicated across the collection

The show closed with a selection of eveningwear which tied all other features of the collection into one, including lace detail, fastening buckles and 80’s influenced shapes, with the closing look a floor length sheer lace black dress with frill detail.
