AW20 Style Notes with Ryan Chappell

For our final installment of the AW20 Style Notes series, we asked movement director and choreographer Ryan Chappell to show us how he is styling the colder seasons. Working with some of fashion’s most in-demand designers including Marc Jacobs, Dior, Paul Smith and titles like Another Magazine, Ryan is a regular behind the scenes of high profile photo shoots and runways. Ryan is also the founder of Movement Plus, a platform for models to develop their performance skill sets through one on one mentoring. Here Ryan shows us his must-have AW20 menswear pieces and how he is styling them.

Look One

For when you’re searching for smart casual inspiration, team structured jackets and straight leg pants together to create a more defined silhouette. Although we’re promising to not only wear black this winter season, this Our Legacy, Lavin and Maison Margiela combination demonstrates how Ryan’s achieving a more laid-back approach to smarter dressing.

Look Two

This year we’ve learnt how to nail off-duty dressing, suitable for both working from our home offices and smart enough for our zoom calls. This Maison Margiela V-neck knit and Italian wool drawstring trousers from A.P.C. provide us with ample amounts of comfort and fits good enough for our weekend style.

Look Three

A common misconception is that you have to compromise on style when it comes to staying warm, and this OAMC Lithium jacket is the perfect example of how we’re proving the myth untrue. Seen on almost every AW20 runway puffer jackets are the must-have coats for staying toasty and on trend this season. Teamed here with some slouchy Maison Margiela wool trousers and Axel Arigato sneakers for a stylish weatherproof look.
