Spring/Summer 13 show at LFW revived the charisma of the 90s in a vibrant and visual presentation of their latest collection.

The collection shone bright with pineapple African prints, multi-coloured jean jackets and sporty silhouettes.

Mischievous, tongue-in-cheek and undeniably eye-catching – the fun and frivolity so resonant in the brand’s name permeated the collection beautifully.

Delivering a striking collection of eminently wearable pieces, the Antipodium SS13 show at London Fashion Week was cohesive but eclectic. Named ‘How to Affect Robots and Influence People’, the collection deals with technology and the body, Fembots and futurism, hi-tech perfection and the construction of beauty.

Pushing the boundaries of human form through silhouettes that ranged from oversized to sharply tailored, the collection drew inspiration from medical science with prints being re-workings of pre-surgical markings - a result of a collaboration with Dr Tim Goodacre, President of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons.

With Signature skater-style dresses, crisp shirts, and playful bombers, fleshy neutrals, bright whites and metallic all featuring - Geoffrey J Finch’s collection was distinctly Antipodium, and a real sartorial treat.

French premium streetwear label Brooklyn We Go Hard have quickly become one of our favourite emerging menswear brands at Coggles, striking the perfect balance between sartorial elegance and modern streetwear aesthetic.

The brand was created by childhood friends, bringing together their love of fashion and photography to create a ‘moving gallery of images’ on t-shirts, which form the foundations of the labels collections to date.

For AW12 Brooklyn We Go Hard launch “Ourouk”, a range that pays homage to the Mesopotamian town of the same name, created six-thousand years ago and known to be the birthplace of mosaic.

"By celebrating mosaic, we defend, at the same time, the mul- ticulturalism that makes Brooklyn a spicy district where cultures coexist. The Scandinavian rigor and the African euphoria, South American craftsmanship and French poetry are used to dress the man as mosaic embellishes Pompeii, Byzantium, Park Güell or New-York subway."

Look out for t-shirts, shirts and trousers with embroidered mosaic pattern sitting alongside the signature Brooklyn Parlais Francais sweatshirts and photographic t's.

We're expecting our second drop from the Brooklyn We Go Hard AW12 collection to arrive anytime now, as well as some repeats on sold out styles, but for now you can see the first drop from the Brooklyn We Go Hard AW12 collection at Coggles here.

Bold and bright, Charlotte Taylor's AW12 collection ‘Jamaica Inn’ is a myriad of colour and print.

Illustrating a journey of two tales united, the collection is influenced by the historically rich and beautiful county of Cornwall and Daphne Du Maurier’s tale ‘Jamaica Inn’ - a narrative of a young lady who becomes unexpectedly submerged in a dark world of smugglers and pirates.

The result of drawing upon the locals, the rugged coastal walks, the discontinued tin mining towers, wet and wild weather, musical jazz evenings, pirates and pints of cider is a beautifully eclectic collection.

New to Coggles, indeed new to the world, Purified embraces timeless style and quality with a sprinkling of modernity to create one of the strongest footwear labels that we’ve seen.

The Purified women’s offering designed by Dominic Webster and exclusive online to Coggles this season, works with the fundamentals of shoemaking. Adding the finest subtleties to each and every design the purified collection is beautifully diverse with pony skin, patent leather and hints of exposed metal all featuring.

The menswear collection is equally impressive. The Promo Rose Python shoes, an exclusive style to Coggles, perfectly reflect the brand’s innovative and idiosyncratic approach to design, while the rest of the collection takes in everything from patent leather shoes to rugged suede boots.

Christophe Lemaire for Bean Pole

For AW12 the French designer Christophe Lemaire collaborates with Korea’s Bean Pole, following on from Kim Jones’ previous collection.

The first ever collaboration from the artistic director of Hermès, Lemaire’s ‘Novo’ collection – a reference to the French rock critic Yves Adrien’s 1978 novel ‘Novo-Vision’, in which he anticipated the electronic music revolution – is inspired by the minimal aesthetic of bands like Kraftwerk and Cabaret Voltaire.

In an interview with Dazed Digital earlier this year, Lemaire described how his former life as a DJ continues to influence his fashion career: “I always found more style in the music scene than the fashion scene. But you British now about that.”

With a clean, graphic aesthetic and a colour palette of industrial grey, chemical yellow and black and white, Christophe Lemaire for Bean Pole represents a ‘new streetwear’ that nevertheless makes sense for everyday life; as the designer puts it, “we all need to do things that make sense”.

For the last ten years Secretsundaze have been at the forefront of London’s daytime party scene, their uncompromising approach to music bringing the very best in underground house and techno to the capital’s most interesting venues and fun-loving crowds.

Introducing big names like Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano to the UK and breaking countless others, Secretsundaze remains the number one London party for many of the world’s best DJ’s with the likes of Delano Smith, Carl Craig, Tobi Neumann, Ame, Kyle Hall and Joy Orbison all gracing the Secretsundaze decks, along with highly respected residents and founders Giles Smith and James Priestly.

This year Secretsundaze continues to go from strength to strength with further releases from the Secretsundaze label, sell out gigs across the world and the most ambitions party to date – Secretsundaze Go Bang! in just a few weeks time in London.

With a lineup that stays true to the core Secretsundaze sound (Motor City Drum Ensemble, Wbeeza, Sven Weisemann) while extending it into more diverse, but nevertheless high quality underground territory (Matthew Herbert, Levon Vincent, Al Tourettes, Ben UFO) and the spectacular Roundhouse booked as a venue, this is London’s most exciting mini festival for some time and we’ll be launching an exclusive competition to win tickets and vinyl later this week.

Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2012

This year's Deutsche Börse Photography Prize is underway, with the four finalists, Rinko Kawauchi, John Stezaker, Pieter Hugo and Christopher Williams exhibiting in London's newly renovated Photographer's Gallery in Soho. The prize honours the individual deemed to have made the most significant contribution to photography this past year – either in the contexts of publication or exhibition, and is one of the most prestigious and eagerly anticipated awards of the year.

This years show leans towards the fine art and documentary genres. Pieter Hugo's work 'Permanent Error' focuses on waste collectors who work amid the toxic smoke on the biggest dump for unwanted and broken computers in the world. Hugo's huge prints and eerie multimedia display on the beautiful top floor of the gallery are an unsettling reminder of the world's inequality.

In stark contrast, Rinko Kawauchi's prints from her work Illuminance and Iridescence, explores beauty in the every day. "I prefer to listen to the small voices in the world, those which whisper," she writes in her artist's statement; "…my eyes naturally focus on small things." Kawauchi's radiant images poetically flow across three walls on the top floor of the gallery and complement Hugo's work surprisingly well, perhaps suggesting that Hugo's work also leans towards a fine art perspective.

Down to the fourth floor where British artist John Stezaker combines various found imagery to brilliant effect. Concentrating on glamorous images from Hollywood’s Golden Era, his work challenges our understanding and consumption of “icons” and emphasises the impacts and illusions of photography.

Sharing this floor with Stezaker is American artist Christopher Williams. William's highly conceptual work is perhaps the hardest to engage with. Two colour images, separated by a third black and white print are surrounded by a sea of white walls. Print quality is undeniably superb, but it's hard to relate William's images to his statement concerning the lingering effects of the cold war and the role of photography in shaping our society.

The Gallery's impossible to escape book shop and great café are two more reasons to visit before the show closes on the 9th of September.

Read The Guardian's review of the exhibition here or visit The Photographers Gallery for more information.

Danish-born designer Peter Jensen's eponymous label presents an individual and playful aesthetic.
With purveyors of bold print and mischievous design infallibly popular in London,
Moschino Cheap and Chic’s first London presentation was always going to be a roaring success.

Exhibited in truly Moschino style in a Georgian townhouse, the presentation was extravagant and highly lavish with ‘Make-Up’ being the main inspiration of the day. With loose knits, vibrant colours and tactile fabrics, the message seemed to be 'bold is better', be it shown through silhouettes, make-up or colour palette.

For one day only, Brixton’s Windrush Square was transformed as hoops sprung from the ground and pop-up bleachers were packed out with South London locals. The morning was spent with Nike poster-boys Herman Harried, Luol Deng and Scottie Pippen training-up the future bright-lights of British basketball.

Then once the kids were bounce savvy and slam-dunk proficient the big – we mean really, really big – boys and girls arrived. Thirty, three man teams battled it out on the courts in a knock-out tournament. The festival ended in style as the best of basketball & hip-hop came together on stage at the O2 Academy Brixton in front of a packed house of 5,000.

Sergio Pininfarina, who ran the famous Italian design house Pininfarina for about 40 years died aged 85 yesterday. He was credited with crafting the super sleek Ferrari race cars and created some of the most iconic and elegant car designs of the 20th century.

Sergio Pininfarina was born in Turin. His career started after earning a mechanical engineering degree from the Polytechnic University of Turin in 1950 and joining the family firm of Carrozzeria Pinin Farina. Sergio became the firm’s managing director in 1961, which was also the same year the company’s name changed to Pininfarina.

When Sergio Farina, as he then was, began playing a leading role in his father’s Turin-based design and coach building business in the mid-1950s, annual production at the company was fewer than 1,000 handcrafted units. By the end of the century, annual production had reached nearly 50,000 units and the company had grown to three manufacturing plants.

Sergio became best-known for his partnership with Enzo Ferrari, for whom he designed a series of beautifully sculpted models, including the 410 SA (1959); the 1965 Dino Berlinetta Speciale (Sergio’s own favourite); the Ferrari Testarossa (1984); the F40 (1987); and the Enzo (2002).

When pioneering music festival Bloc announced that they were moving from their Butlins home in Minehead, few could have dreamt that their much loved festival could get any better. Bloc’s new home though, a six-thousand square metre space on London’s Victoria Docklands looks like it’s about to allow Britain’s best dance and electronic music festival to reach its full potential.

Designed by Mutate Britain and Shangri La, ‘London Pleasure Gardens’ fits perfectly with Bloc’s progressive attitude to music and culture. Overlooked by derelict monolithic post-industrial buildings and with purpose-built, high-spec venues on land and water, the site will play host top Bloc’s biggest and most diverse line-up yet, which reads like a who’s who of dance and electronic music.

Highlights across two days include Ricardo Villalobos, Detroit techno legend Jeff Mills, Nicolas Jaar’s spectacular live show and avant garde minimalist composer Steve Reich, among many, many others.

Add to the mix a Boiler Room takeover with Richie Hawtin and Jamie Jones, which will take place on the MS Stubnitz - a two-thousand-five-hundred ton deep-sea fishing vessel that belonged to the German Democratic Republic before the collapse of Communism, and you’ve got one exciting festival proposition. Indeed Resident Advisor tipped it as their top festival across the world this month and we’re not going to disagree.

Atalanta Weller's eponymous label, launched in 2010, explores the limits of footwear bringing a vibrant colour palette, inspirational shapes and quality leather to the foreground.

Invited to visit her East London design studio, we found a creative hub that exudes imagination; various inspirations like her grandfather’s nostalgic record collection and Chinese slippers brought to England in the late 30s by a great uncle are scattered in amongst her newest avant-garde designs and prototypes.

1ina100's unique collection of t-shirts provides a platform for young artists to gain exposure in the world of design. Recent collaborations have included Katie Scott, Kyle Platts, Matt Ritson, Felix Malia and Liu Longsha to name just a few, their t-shirts seen simply as an alternative form of canvas on which to exhibit their work. Each design varies from the next due to the intricate silk-screen hand printing process, shown in the video above.

All designs are strict editions of 100 hand-numbered by 1ina100, while a collaborative process with emerging design students has resulted in the perfect fitting t-shirt manufactured in Europe using 100% 185gsm off-white cotton.

A highlight of the 1ina100 collection is Katie Scott’s minerals white t-shirt.

Influenced from traditional medical and botanical illustration, Scott’s work toys with the ideas of scientific uncertainty and speculation, fabricating the inner and outer workings of the world. Her minerals white tee depicts a familiar yet somewhat fantastical portrayal of hand drawn minerals in distinct hues of purple and green.

New to Coggles this season, Antipodium is a quirky combination of subverted silhouettes, tongue-in-cheek prints and confident simplicity. Led by creative director Geoffrey.J.Finch and launched in 2006, Antipodium offers a timeless collection of sartorial delights that are witty, rich in texture and unapologetically seductive.

Antipodium's SS12 collection, named 'Found Love in a Graveyard', not only highlights Finch's great design ability but also invites us to expect the unexpected.

Perfect androgyny is achieved in Antipodium's ‘Weddings, Wakes, Anything' black silk shirt, where feminine French seams, a delicately curved hem and sheer silk organza are offset against opaque masculine fastenings and an angular patent collar.

Antipodium's 'Graver' coat is another highlight of the collection, both oversized and hugely tactile, it is detailed right down to the piped orange seams that are set against the coat's black lining.

Australian photographer Tamara Dean's images explore themes of ritual, intimacy and decay set within the contemporary Australian landscape.

Like many photographers, Dean started her photographic journey documenting personal lifestyle and relationships, but her thorough and thoughtful approach and beautifully etherial aesthetic allowed her images to stand out from what is a heavily saturated and often empty genre of photography. Her contemporary documentary work further explores subcultures and social rituals, aiming to illuminate the real lives and stories often overlooked by mainstream media.

Tamara's 2009 project 'Ritualisms' explores the disconnect from contemporary landscape and pace of life, and delves into the shared desire to understand our existence and our mortality.

Last Friday Dalston’s Kristina Records hosted DJ QU, one of our favourite DJ’s and producers from America’s East Coast, for an in-store before his headline set for Make Me at Basing House later that evening.

Along with the stable of artists who have appeared on Jus Ed’s Underground Quality label such as Fred P, Levon Vincent, Jenifa Mayanja and Jus Ed himself, QU has been a quietly influential figure in New York's house renaissance of the last few years, and he is also known to be one of the most affable guys in the business - something we were happy to experience first hand.

To see the rest of the shots head over to the Coggles Facebook Page and for more on Kristina Records including their plans for Record Store Day this Saturday click here.

Meanwhile, here’s one of our favourites from QU...

The Inoue Brothers – Tohoku Collection

For Spring/Summer 12 The Inoue Brothers have taken the initiative to work with the region of Tohoku, Japan, which experienced the devastation of the Tsunami created by the country’s most powerful earthquake since records began over 100 years ago.

This limited T-shirt only collection is an expression of efforts to commission work for operational textile co-operatives of factories and workshops whose commissioned contracts have been withdrawn due to production risks. It's an approach that is characteristic of the brothers' thoughtful and considered approach to their work, which extends as far back as the long-term relationships that they build at every stage of the supply chain - be it alpaca shepherds in Bolivia or a cooperative of beading ladies from the township of Khayelitsha in South Africa.

For the Tohoku collection, The Inoue Brothers have worked with friends who share their values, including underground art duo Outlaws London, South African conceptual artist Xander Ferreira, LCD Soundsytem frontman and DFA label boss James Murphy, and pioneering Tokyo streetwear label Sasquatch Fabrix.
