Sperry Top-sider
The originator of deck shoe design, the Sperry Topsider has all the features and classic nuances that have made this shoe so great. The Sperry Topsider has been an American favourite since 1935 when Paul Sperry, inspired by his dog Prince¹s ability to run nimbly over ice and snow, used a pen knife to cut siping into the outsole of a rubber sneaker.
The uppers are hand sewn, and the leather is water and stain resistant. The laces use the now famous 360° system, lacing round the back of the shoe. Due to their nautical usage the eyelets are rust proof and the soles use razor cut wave siping for maximum grip. Basically they look great and are as well put together as any shoe you will ever see. This ingenuity, along with the iconic inspiration of other design details, launched an American Original.
