Inside a Light California Beach House

A white kitchen in a California beach house with light wooden flooring, white marble counter tops and large, spherical hanging glass lights.

Designed by Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors, this house in Newport Beach, California is light, breezy and subtly complements its surroundings.

White walls, large windows and sliding doors feature throughout this California beach house to create a light, natural and free flowing feel. Hunks of white marble are found in the kitchen counter tops and island, adding texture to the starkness of the walls and cabinets, while light wooden floors and stools break up the monochrome.

The house’s beach location is referenced throughout with the use of rustic, bare wood, shades of blue and cream and subtle rope details on glass jars on vases. As a contrasting element, industrial features are seen in pendant lighting, and the use of black steel in the stairwell and kitchen.
