Henrique Oliveira

The inside of 'Transarquitetônica' by Henrique Oliveira.

Henrique Oliveira is a Brazilian artist who is based in São Paulo, Brazil. Having recently completed his largest installation to date, Transarquitetônica at Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade in São Paulo, the artist has left us completely dumbfounded by this sheer scale of the project. Built using tampumes, a type of inexpensive wood that is commonly used on construction sites to hide building work, the wood is nailed to a framework in the style of a large fibrous root system. Visitors can admire the artwork both without and within, as the cavernous interior is open to the public.
