Prps is shorthand for “purpose”

It is their purpose to deliver the perfect denim product to the most discriminating denim enthusiasts. To achieve perfection, they use the finest quality African cottons from Benin, Senegal, Zimbabwe and Uganda. These countries have the ideal climate for growing the strongest, most resilient, pure cotton. The cotton is organically grown, hand picked and inspected by the local cotton farmers.

After the cotton is harvested in Africa, it is shipped to a family run denim manufacturer in Japan, who possess a deep understanding of craft and expertise. Once the denim is woven on vintage shuttle looms with their signature selvedge, they are put through a very aggressive aging process. Every stain, nick, prick or abrasion is painstakingly produced by hand, to replicate real wear and age.

The end result is denim product that is superior in durability, texture, colour and touch.

Designed by Donwan Harrell

The selvedge (British English) or selvage (US English) is the white woven edge on both edges of the fabric width, which prevents unravelling or fraying and is a result of how the fabric is created. Traditionally white, the selvedge has been adapted more recently to create unique signature colours for specific, prestigious denim brands. In woven fabric, the selvedge is the edge that runs parallel to the warp (the longitudinal threads that run the entire length of the fabric), and is created by the weft thread looping back at the end of each row.

Traditionally an old 29 inch shuttle loom was used.

The terms selvedge and selvage are a corruption of "self-edge", and have been in use since the 16th century.
