Nigel Cabourn’s “Burma” collection is inspired by his fathers army handbook which he used as a diary of his army campaigns and manoeuvres in India and Burma from 1942-45. The clothes worn by Nigel’ father - J.E.W. Cabourn - and the photographs within this book taken on his ‘box brownie’ camera provide not only the inspiration for the collection but a reference for design and construction, with each piece faithfully recreated using genuine British heritage fabrics wherever possible; these fabrics have the finest reputation for durability and quality and have been manufactured by British manufacturers, some of which even produced for the British Army in WW1 and WW2.
The Nigel Cabourn Authentic line is a unique collection consisting of original clothes inspired by Nigel’s rare archival pieces from the 1940’s and 1950’s.
