NATURAL SELECTION

Taylor Narrow Wave Jeans

Natural Selection - Taylor, mens narrow leg selvedge jeans with in hand finished denim from the Kurabo mills, Japan. The denim has a stiff salt water finish.

Heritage detailing is evident as all workmanship is authentic and of the highest standard. Tonal stitching is used throughout, with distressed edges and abrasions and a cut off rear cinch-back. Further homage is paid using triangular stitch on the top button and hidden rivets. Discreet detailing is key; Natural Selection rivets are non-branded on the outside yet branded ‘NS’ inside.

A beautiful, hand drawn illustration upon the leather patch specially designed by the graphic artist Reilly - utilising a subtly British concept of an ornate floral design inspired by the decorative engravings on British shotguns - provides a background for the iconography of a pheasant riding a penny farthing, a dual reference to classic, British innovation.

Natural Selection offers the unique detail of additional piping to all major seams on belt loops, front and back pockets and the rear yoke. This aesthetic detail exaggerates the wearing in process.

Furthermore, the signature belt loop helps the range to be instantly identifiable as Natural Selection, whilst each style has a discreet leather tab for identity. The placement of this detail changes depending on the style.

The fly buttons contrast, the top button being brass and the others iridium, each button is stamped with the Greek letters of GOTS.

The selvedge (British English) or selvage (US English) is the white woven edge on both edges of the fabric width, which prevents unravelling or fraying and is a result of how the fabric is created. Traditionally white, the selvedge has been adapted more recently to create unique signature colours for specific, prestigious denim brands. In woven fabric, the selvedge is the edge that runs parallel to the warp (the longitudinal threads that run the entire length of the fabric), and is created by the weft thread looping back at the end of each row.

Traditionally an old 29 inch shuttle loom was used.

The terms selvedge and selvage are a corruption of "self-edge", and have been in use since the 16th century.
